2025 in review 😮💨
2025 has come and gone
Sometimes I feel like it went by in a flash and other times I feel like it dragged on.
What is time
Here's our recap for the year and I will sprinkle in the good and the bad throughout - it was a doozy year for us so buckle in 👇🏻
Winter
-Shed is almost finished and in use
-New Year's day, upon waking, the pigs decided that they no longer wanted to be at the East side of the house and moved themselves over to the shed on their own 😅
-Our moveable cattle structures flipped multiple times destroying it and bringing us back to the drawing board
-We built a 3 walled movable wooden structure for the cows
-Lots of ice breaking and adjusting shelter arrangements for the animals
-Rutabaga Ranch partnership kicked off
-The conversion of the old forage wagon into a chicken coop commenced
-Bulk pork ordering opened
-Tariff talk started
Spring
-New pickup location at Emperio Locale on Beech Street, in Little Italy
-Easter Bundles
-First baby calves born on the farm
-Our moveable wooden shed flipped (the end of us trying to use moveable shelters, the wind is just too strong)
-Starting at Greely Good Market on Sundays for the whole season
-Opening the store and welcoming 20 (!) CSA clients from Rutabaga Ranch
-Coop is finished
-Chicken drama
-Started offering Farm Memberships
Summer
-First year truly rotationally grazing cows
-Water Wagon for the cows commenced
-Little piglets
-Maker chat with Copious Fashion
-Pond excavation and seedlings planted
-More kittens
-Droughhhhts
-Hay purchase
Fall
-Purchase of 20 more cows (!)
-Finishing our season off at Greely Good and with our CSA customers/farm store
-Quitting my part-time job and giving this little farm a chance
-More hay purchase
All while selling only local food in-person and online!
It's been an amazing year, despite the drought and heat, we've been able to double our gross store income this year and add more products to the store like chicken and smoked salt.
