LOTS of updates for you!

Happy Halloween!

We will take your leftover pumpkins!

Drop them off at the farm by the farm stand. The chickens and pigs love to snack on them so they won't go to waste

I started a new job

If you follow us on socials you may have seen me mention this. I am now a field representative for the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association.  A non profit that works directly with the government to help farmers apply for cost-share funding, while also giving workshops about sustainable farming. It's 5-10 hours a week and I'm intrigued to see where this will go, I've learnt a ton already.

I will be stocking up on products this week

It's a non negotiable for me now, so stay tuned for more chocolate, coffee, honey, preserves and more.

We are starting to run low on our beef.

For steaks we have blade, round and one package of sirloin steak left.  For roasts we have a couple here and there and our hamburger is getting on the lower side. We've tried multiple abattoirs and unfortunately it doesn't look like we will be able to get more beef before Christmas, we're still trying but the options are getting slim so I suggest ordering now to make sure you have want you want for the holidays. Check out our beef here

Emmett slept his first full night ever last Monday,

And then again on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  A random update for you but if you've been following along for a bit then you know that Emmett (our 2 year old son) and sleep aren't the best of friends so this has been very welcome for us.  Fingers crossed that it continues to improve 🤞🏻🤞🏻

The shed walls are up

In the past week, the shed has been backfilled, a tile drain placed to prevent water pooling and all 4 walls are up.  This week the plan is to hopefully add a roof and then go from there.  The progress has been good and we're enjoying seeing it all come together.

It's leaf raking season and we will take them all!

If you rake your leaves in the fall and put them out to the curb for the green bin, please consider dropping them off at the farm (if you live close we can also come to you for pickup).  We use leaves in our chicken coop and pig pens, as bedding, in our compost and as mulch in the gardens.  Get in touch and we can set up a plan, ideally the leaves will be dry when they are picked up but that's not a necessity.

Okay I think that's everything for now. Happy Halloween!

-Caylie, Alex, Matilda and Emmett
